This is ‘Siao Guai’ (小乖), my family’s pet lesser sulphur-crested cockatoo - seen here with her 'toy boy Nigel' on her 24th birthday. At middle-age, she has yet to live up to her name and start behaving well. We welcomed her into our home on 27 Jun 1987.

Just to make cat lovers go ‘awww’ …

This is the stray tabby ‘Mao Jing’ (猫精) - which means ‘smart aleck cat’ in Cantonese. She’s the mascot of my block. As you can tell from her chipped left ear, she has been sterilized (sorry, no 'mini-mao jing' from her). Whenever she needs a ride on the lift, she follows me like my daemon (‘The Golden Compass’). Though she has no lack of feeders, she likes to drop by my home to snack.
